We caught up with Ms. Samantha Williams, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2023 Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo. Learn a little more about Samantha below!

How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
One way I stay focused is by thinking of all the other kids out there also working hard to reach there goal and how I have to work even harder.
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
No I do not.
What’s your favorite show? and why?
My favorite show is NALIE because I love the big ring and showing on the green shavings.
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
After a big win I like going out to eat with all my friends to celebrate!
What has showing livestock taught you?
Showing livestock has taught me so many things such as responsibility, respect, and how to make friends easily. It seems like you learn something everyday showing livestock.
What’s your biggest dream?
One of my biggest dreams is to win NAILE one time. NALIE is one of the biggest shows and I think it would be awesome to get to win it one time.
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
My sheep doesn’t exactly have a consistent name it seems like almost every other week my sisters like to change his name. My sheep is pretty special though because he’s one of the most laid back sheep i’ve shown and he’s just very easy going. Which has made showing him a lot more easy and fun.
Who do you look up to?
There is many people I look up to but I think one of the most important ones is Kailen Urban or aka Sister. Sister has been a huge role model for me because she’s a very supportive person and has been a very good person to be able to look up too.
