We caught up with Mr. Brayden Bowers, exhibitor of the Supreme Breeding Ewe at the 2024 Aksarben Stock Show. Learn a little more about Brayden below!
What was your favorite thing about the show?
Getting to see friends from across the midwest – It’s the first of the fall shows, so it’s always good to see my buddies that I haven’t seen in a while!
What is one experience in the ring you will never forget?
The highlight of my show career thus far has been winning the NAILE Gilt Show with my girl “Panther”.
What is one thing you try to not take for granted while showing?
No matter how hard you work, sometimes animals act up or decide to act up. It makes you really appreciate when everything goes your way in the ring, because sometimes animals get spooked or decide not to walk even though you’ve done everything you can.
If you had to use one word to describe the people supporting you, what would it be?
INTENSE
Do you enjoy doing showmanship? Why or why not?
It depends. It’s the most fun when all three of our “Three Amigos” crew – Sayde, Regan and I all do showmanship and bet on ice cream over it.
If you could pick another species to show, what would it be? Why?
I love showing pigs and would like to show steers one day.
