Grade: Yuba Community College and currently a Sophomore

Tell us a little bit about your champion.
My ewes name is Lizzo and we had a very short show career with her being shown 3 times and, ending the year with being Reserve Champion Wether Dam at Arizona National 2023. She is bred by Hobbs Show lambs and is retained by Debbie Bacon. She is sired by How High and is a flush mate to the third overall wether at Aksarben that was shown by Gabbie Route.

Lizzo is definitely the favorite around the barn and acts more like a dog than a sheep. Her favorite treats are French fries and animal crackers and would do anything for either of them.

Throughout your show career what’s been your favorite lamb?
My favorite show lamb has definitely been lizzo. She has truly been the favorite in the barn. She will scream at me if I don’t pay attention to her when I am in the barn.

Do your prefer showing Wethers or Ewes?
I prefer to show ewes rather than wethers.

Are you superstitious? If so, what are your superstitions?
No I do not feel that I am superstitious.

It’s showday – what is one thing you can’t leave the hotel/house without?
I can not leave the hotel without my special buckle and animal crackers for my sheep.

What do you tell yourself right before you go into the ring?
To do my best and hope the results follow and always hope that my sheep will walk.

Are you an early riser or a night owl?
I am an early riser.

Who has been your biggest influence?
I would say that my biggest influence is Johnny Albers. I can not thank him enough for all the help and guidance that he has given me over the last several years.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the barn?
My favorite thing to do in the barn is do legs and listen to my music while doing legs.
