What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Big City x J651 Shower Chicken. This lamb was a triplet that’s other two brothers also have had a successful show career. One in particular, was sold on Burch’s Heavy Hitters and went on to being 3rd overall natural at the Kansas State Fair.

What makes your operation run smoothly?
At our farm It has helped a lot that everyone has their own responsibilities, as well as all the help and support from friends & our dedicated customers.

How many head do you run?
Approximately, 100 head of black face, 15 head of white face, 50 head of dorpers and 50 head of goats. We have plans to downsize and establish a flush program in the near future.

Do you have another job besides raising sheep? If so, what’s your occupation?
Yes, Eric is a production manager at Seaboard Foods, Courtney is a transportation manager at Stine Seed and Steve farms.

In your opinion, who has been the most influential ram across the industry?
In todays world of how competitive the buck market is and how quick bucks are turned, Unicorn is one that in recent years has stayed relevant the longest.

What’s your favorite livestock show?
Iowa State Fair. Nothing compares.

Do you prefer online sales or live sales?
They both are important but we prefer live sales. We enjoy the atmosphere and feel that buyers have a better read of our stock.
