Titus Club Lambs

We caught up with the breeder of the Grand Champion Wether Dam at the 2023 Missouri State Fair and the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2023 Illinois State Fair. We invite you to read our candid interview with Titus Club Lambs below and please continue to check back often for our next edition of “Breeder Spotlight.”

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
This female is a product of our flush program. She is a Chief on our middlesworth donor. That would make her a full sib to the 2022 Grand at Michigan Livestock Expo.

D0030 was a Chimera x Bishop Bullwinkle. Chimera is a Unicorn x Fancy Like, from Allen/Newcomb who is a full brother to Hild’s donor “Layne”. We are horrible about advertising. But we are very excited about his 2nd lamb crop.

What makes your operation run smoothly?
Bar none. The only thing smooth about the Purple Tag Place is Lindsey. She’s the one constantly cleaning. Walking pens and telling me what to treat or who seems off. Without her. It don’t work.

How many head do you run?
150 ish matures and 50 or so recips.

Do you have another job besides raising sheep? If so, what’s your occupation?
Well. I am a Regional Sales Manager for Atticus LLC. I sell row crop Ag Chemicals. And I moonlight as a livestock auctioneer.

In your opinion, who has been the most influential ram across the industry?
I would have to say Unicorn. You could argue his sire Drop the Mic or his son Chief. But that particular sire line is simply dominant.

What’s your favorite livestock show?
National Western Stock Show. Bar none. My fondest memories are with Trace showing at Denver.

Do you prefer online sales or live sales?
I love em both. They both have their place. If your having a live sale. Call me.
