What makes your operation run smoothly?
Our operation is very family based. My children and my parents are very involved in the day to day management of our operation. My dad is always willing to help feed ewes when the kids and I are on the road chasing the next banner. My kids are also great at helping feed or even doing late checks while we are lambing. Also Jonathan Jones/Vinny is an integral part of our operation and I am so thankful for him!
How many head do you run?
Around 300 ewes.
Do you have another job besides raising sheep? If so, what’s your occupation?
We also ranch commercially and run a exotic hunting ranch and wedding venue!
In your opinion, who has been the most influential ram across the industry?
I think that Drop the Mic and Unicorn are the most influential rams in the industry.
What’s your favorite livestock show?
It’s hard to beat the Houston Livestock Show
in my mind!! I also really enjoy the American Royal!
Do you prefer online sales or live sales?
I personally prefer online sales!! Live sales give me anxiety!!
