What ram or female has been most influential to your herd?
The most influential ewe in our herd is a Dirty Banana ewe we purchased from Brian Johnson. She is the grandmother to Kinley’s champion lamb at the National Western, the grandmother to Grace’s champion commercial ewe at NAILE in 2022 and the grandmother to Brody’s 3rd over all at the American Royal 2022.
What’s your dream as a producer?
To continue to raise progressive show stock while staying true to the fundamentals of good livestock. One of my favorite parts of raising sheep as a family is incorporating my dads knowledge of what good stock should be with mine and my kiddos ideas of where the industry is headed. In my mind greatness happens when you combined the fundamental ideals of the past generation with the progressive ideas of the future generations.
Do you reside on the same farm, or in the same town you grew up in?
The kiddos and I live about 70 miles from where I grew up. We still commercially ranch where I grew up.
How many years have you been raising sheep?
The 2024 lamb crop will be our 8th crop.
What’s your dream vacation?
My parents just went on my dream vacation to New Zealand!! They toured a bunch of sheep farms and drank a little New Zealand wine, sounds like a dream vacation to me!!
