What was special or interesting about your lamb?
This lamb was easily one of my favorite ones I’ve shown. He always responded to what was asked and was simply a natural when it came time to hit the ring.
What was your favorite sheep in your barn this year?
My favorite sheep in the barn this year was the lamb I won reserve with, BJ, at State fair. He had the best personality, and like I said before, was my favorite one to show!
How would you describe the moment you were selected as champion?
The moment I was selected champion was such a rewarding and meaningful moment that I will never forget. This was my last State Fair which made the moment extra sweet. My family and I have worked hard at this since I was 10 years old and that moment made it all worth it!
Favorite thing to hear on showday?
My favorite thing to hear on show day, is right before I walk in the ring, my dad always gives me knuckles and says, “Go stick em.” He has always said this, and it always puts me in the zone
Favorite person you spent time with at the show…
There is definitely a few! We had an incredible crew with us along with great friends that made it a great week full of hard work and memories.
Do you have any superstitions?
I’m a very superstitious person. I do everything just like we do at home. And of course I gotta wear my lucky belt buckle.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to continue my family’s cattle operation, and business. The cattle industry is what I’ve grown up in, and is something I will always be passionate about. Our sale barn, Dexter Livestock Commission is one of the businesses I hope to continue to be a part of someday with a family of my own.
