We caught up with Ms. Paige Otto, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2025 California State Fair. Learn a little more about Paige below!
What feed product do you feel helped them the most?
Show Rite Newco Lamb, Sculpt and Stretch along with Colossal all played a vital role in getting Tank ready for the show.
What show day supply could you not go without?
Sure Shine is my go-to for legs.
What did you do to prepare that helped set yourself apart?
I practiced a lot and paid attention to the little details I wasn’t afraid to work hard, even when it got tough and I really tried to show how much I cared about what I was doing. I think that extra effort along with a great lamb helped me stand out.
What was the funniest thing that happened while you were preparing for the State Fair?
I like to think I’m pretty witty for my age, so there are tons of funny moments when my show group is together and we’re all hanging out, which makes being part of a group even better.
If you could invent a new fair food, what would it be?
I’d make something new, unique, and spicy! A snack like no one’s ever had before. Maybe it’s a mix of sweet and spicy, with flavors that pop in your mouth.
What would it look like if you designed a ride for the fair?
I’d design a ride that’s super fast, goes really high, spins a lot, and goes upside down! It would be so crazy that it might make most people feel sick—but it would be so much fun for people who love wild rides!
What was your celebratory dinner choice?
Our entire group headed to BJ’s Restaurant, where we basically ordered one of everything off the menu – the food just kept coming!! We ended the evening with a celebratory pizookie!
