We caught up with Ms. Kirsten Walck, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2022 Mississippi Youth Expo. Learn a little more about Kirsten below!

What was special or interesting about your lamb?
My lamb name Stevie was bred by Bline when I tell people that they think he is blind.
What was your favorite sheep in your barn this year?
Probably scooby. He is just very laid back and I could go in the pen and lay with him.
How would you describe the moment you were selected as champion?
I was so shocked I didn’t see it coming. I am always blessed being capable to show and have fun while I’m doing it. I know god has plans and I’m just living in it.
Favorite thing to hear on showday?
Just my dad saying good luck or even my mom telling me to go out there and do what I love to do and be me.
Favorite person you spent time with at the show…
Allison I would say my dad just because this is what me and him have done forever it’s just our bond.
Do you have any superstitions?
Yes, I always try and wear the my hair the same. I don’t like change really.
What is your dream job?
I have always wanted to become a veterinarian since I was younger and hope to funfil that dream.
