We caught up with Ms. Hannah Scyphers, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Commercial Ewe at the 2023 State Fair of Virginia. Learn a little more about Hannah below!

How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
Just having fun and not taking anything too seriously. I also know what my final goal and the small steps I need to take to get there and not be afraid of what is to come.
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
I show sheep and cattle
What’s your favorite show? and why?
Independence day shootout because it is always an indication of what is to come the rest of the summer.
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
There isn’t a very special way to celebrate my win just being happy and grateful.
What has showing livestock taught you?
To never give up and to always try to reach your goals and if you do congratulate yourself. Also to always believe in yourself and work hard.
What’s your biggest dream?
To keep my streak going of winning a big spot in state fair.
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
My grand champion ewes name was Daffi short for Daffodil and what made her special was the mother of my last years reserve champion ewe is related to Daffi
Who do you look up to?
My mom because she is brave and will take on any challenge and she is sooooo pretty.
