We caught up with Mr. Bryce Clayton, exhibitor of the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2020 Illinois Junior Livestock Classic. Learn a little more about Clayton below!

Age: 16

Hometown: Winchester, IL (Winchester High School)

With the uncertainty of the show season, how did you stay focused?
I stayed focused knowing that my parents would drive to other states so I could show my sheep, if needed.  Not knowing when I was going to able to show, I knew I would need to be ready to be competitive.

What was something new you tried this year since you were able to be home more often than normal?
I spent more time in the barn earlier in the Spring than normal.

What is your favorite show product to use?
I like you use show coat on my sheep’s leg wool.

When I grow up I want to be….
I want to be a feed specialist.

Showing animals has helped me to develop……
Showing animals has helped develop social skills and hard work ethic.

What’s your favorite Barn Chore:
My favorite barn chore is working leg wool.

Who is the person you look to for advice right before you go in the ring for that last minute pep talk or pointer:
My mentor Dustin Cruit and my Dad.

Favorite Celebration Restaurant after a good day at the show:
My favorite celebration restaurant is Hooters.
