Double F Club Lambs

We caught up with the breeder of the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2023 American Royal. We invite you to read our candid interview with Double F Club Lambs and please continue to check back often for our next edition of “Breeder Spotlight.”

What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Sired by Gable at Hild Brothers and out of our Middlesworth M456 Urban Donor. He is a maternal brother to our keeper buck this year Urban Legend.

What ram or female has been most influential to your herd?
We have heavily utilized Hippogriff from Middlesworth the past two breeding seasons and think those daughters will have a big impact in our program for years to come. We are excited about the set of females we have raised and purchased for our flush program that we began to get aggressive with two years ago.

What’s your dream as a producer?
My goal is to grow our program to have reputable breeding stock that will be successful for other breeders across the country. I strive to be known for true and honest livestock. My hope is that this will continue to be a focus in our family in the future.

Do you reside on the same farm, or in the same town you grew up in?
Yes, I am the 4th generation to raise livestock on our family farm in Winchester, Kentucky.

How many years have you been raising sheep?
My father, Endre, and my uncle, James Farris, started Double F Club Lambs in 1992.

What’s your dream vacation?
New Zealand or Scotland.
