What’s the pedigree of your champion?
Unfiltered x Huckleberry x Big Willy x Screwball. This lamb is out of our 027 donor that was a successful show ewe for Billy and dam of our 2025 keeper ram, Bada Bing.
How many years have you been raising sheep?
Too many!!
What excites you the most about raising show stock?
When those babies start hitting the ground and developing it’s exciting to see if the hours spent agonizing over matings was successful and/or worthwhile.
What is your favorite animal on your farm?
It is most definitely a Hereford cow much to my husbands dismay.
What is one lesson that you have learned while raising sheep that has changed your perspective over time?
At the end of the day it’s just a sheep and there are so many other things in life that are more important. So don’t beat yourself up too much when things go south in the barn.
Where would you like to see your operation go in the next 5 – 10 years?
Like every other breeder we want to remain relevant. We also want to make West Virginia a club lamb destination. Come for the scenery… leave with a lamb or two!!
