We caught up with Ms. Leah Christianson, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Wether Dam Ewe at the 2024 Minnesota State Fair 4-H. Learn a little more about Leah below!
What is one thing you try to do that sets you apart?
I’ve always made sure my lamb can walk her best without having to tap her as much, and that usually gets the judge’s attention pretty quickly
What was the hardest thing you had to learn about showing sheep?
Every judge has a different opinion and one doesn’t define your lamb. I’ve always told myself to forget it and focus on the next show. And use what the judge said as motivation.
Who has helped you the most as a showman?
Definitely the Guttormsson family and my sister. They have helped me since the first time I’ve ever started showing. They have made sure me and my lamb can be the best they can be and I can’t thank them enough for that.
