We caught up with Mr. Landon Taylor, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Wether Dam at the 2025 Arizona National. Learn a little more about Landon below!
How did you get started in showing livestock?
I was able to go with my mom and dad to shows all over Texas when I was young and had a lot of fun so they got me my first sheep Ranger when I was 6.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside the show barn?
Play Baseball
Favorite show to attend?
Definitely Phoenix
If you weren’t showing, what sport/hobby would you be doing?
Baseball and Hunting deer.
Favorite show barn chore? Least favorite?
My Favorite chore is mixing feed. My least favorite is taking pens and changing waters because my sheep headbutt me when they play and it spills water on me.
What’s one thing your parents/mentors always remind you of before you go in the ring?
My mom always tells me “go do your thing and have fun” and my dad says “it’s go time”
What’s one thing you learned from your champion that will help you with future projects?
When I got Rhonda, she was hard headed and hard to show. I learned that anything is possible if you work for it. My parents made me work to find out what made her show right.
