We caught up with Mr. Kyle Rehak, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2024 Nebraska State Fair 4-H. Learn a little more about Kyle below!
What is one thing you try to do that sets you apart?
I sacrifice my summer and instead of getting to go out and do other activities, I spend most of my days in the sheep barn working on my animals to make them the best they can possibly be.
What was the hardest thing you had to learn about showing sheep?
The work ethic is the hardest thing to learn showing sheep as it takes countless hours to get your sheep ready for a showing, as the animals can be buttheads and be difficult or as it might take a majority of the summer to get your sheep to set up perfect, but all it takes is to have a lot of faith and patience.
Who has helped you the most as a showman?
The thing that has helped me the most is the people around me like my parents, show friends and Hassebrooks as they took me under their wing and made me the best showman I can be.
