We caught up with Ms, Kreightyn Rodgers, exhibitor of the Reserve Champion Breeding ewe at the 2023 State Fair of Tulsa. Learn a little more about Kreightyn below!

How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
I work every other day on setting my sheep up and working on hand walking and making sure that they will act right in the ring.
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
No
What’s your favorite show? and why?
My favorite show is OYE. It is my favorite show because I get to be around my family and friends. I get to show in front of an arena full of people. And I love the grand drive!!
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
We celebrate with the show team. We sometimes go out and eat after a big win.
What has showing livestock taught you?
It has taught me wether I win or lose to be proud of myself for what I have done in the show ring. And it has also taught me to never give up.
What’s your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to make the grand drive at OYE. And win it!!!
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
My sheep’s name is Yankee. She has been special to me since the day she stepped a foot into the barn. She has always acted right when I am working with her outside in the backyard and it always pays off in the show ring
Who do you look up to?
I would like to say thank you to my parents and my papa and Mimi for helping get her ready and helping me in the backyard. It all pays off when I get to the show ring!!
