We caught up with Ms. Kiley Langley, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2024 Iowa State Fair FFA. Learn a little more about Kiley below!
What is one thing you try to do that sets you apart?
I try to work all of my lambs for showmanship every night. I believe that if I can show them to their best ability then that could help them move up a spot or two in a class
What was the hardest thing you had to learn about showing sheep?
I think one of the biggest learning curves for me was learning to feed sheep. We originally only fed cattle so we didn’t have much experience feeding show animals or sheep. It was just very interesting to learn how much feed could change an animal.
Who has helped you the most as a showman?
Matt Bothel has helped me as a showman the most. He took the time to teach me how to show a sheep well because the first time I tried it was not pretty. Over the years I have gotten better and better and I am grateful for all the help
