We caught up with Mr, Isaac Thompson exhibitor of the Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Ewe at the 2023 Indiana Stock Show. Learn a little more about Isaac below!

Grade: Senior in high school
How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
At the start of the year, we write out goals and as these change, we update the list as well and cross off completed ones this keeps us focused and tuned in on goals as a team and family.
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
Nope just sheep.
What’s your favorite show? and why?
American Royal, the atmosphere and competition there are unmatched, and the fitting contest is always a highlight of the show.
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
We go as a family and team to Mexican after every show and break down how the show went.
What has showing livestock taught you?
Discipline has been a huge part of the show world for me it has taught me to work hard and the hard work will be rewarded
What’s your biggest dream?
To raise the Grand Champion at the American Royal.
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
Minossa, she has been special to see from the start when she first hit the ground at home all the way to reserve overall ewe at Indiana Stock Show.
Who do you look up to?
My dad, has always been someone to look up to and appreciate for all his accomplishments. He’s why I go to the barn in the morning to work sheep.
