We caught up with Ms. Holden Wise, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2025 Spring American Royal. Learn a little more about Holden below!
What school do you attend/grade are you in?
Early ISD 8th grade
Leading up to the show, did you always know this lamb was special? What made him special?
Tim was a truly a special sheep for everyone but unfortunately we had a traumatic dog attack that left him with nubs for ears . He might have been a true pain to show but he was a real trooper with everything he went through.
Getting to have success at Spring American Royal is a huge accomplishment, who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I’d like to thank Tate, my siblings, my parents, and grandparents for supporting me and allowing me to be able to do what I love!
What is one show ring experience that you will never forget?
I would say my most memorable experience would be hugging my brother, Madden, at the Rodeo Austin and knowing it was our last major stockshow together and we finished his show career with a Win!
If you could describe your experience in words – how would you describe it?
It would be extremely grateful because you get that feeling that the hard work and dedication has finally paid off.
Who has been your biggest influence?
My biggest influence has probably been my Barn Crew— Tate, Madden , Johnny & Knoxie because they pushed me in so many ways and I have made me the person I am today. Especially Madden & Tate!!
If you had the opportunity to win one show, what would it be?
If I could win one show, Fort Worth is at the top of my list , Madden got a piece of all of them but Fort Worth always eluded him.
Who is your favorite judge? Why?
Although I don’t have a favorite judge, I truly do appreciate any of the judges that give the time with the kids and act like they really enjoy being there.
What do you enjoy most about being at the shows?
The one thing I enjoy most at shows is hanging out with the people that shape me to be a better people and I truly do appreciate every single one of them.
