We caught up with Mr. Evan McClain, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2020 Indiana State Fair. Learn a little more about Evan below!

With the uncertainty of the show season, how did you stay focused?
I just stayed positive and knew no matter what I was still in the barn doing what I love to do, chasing my biggest goals.
What was something new you tried this year since you were able to be home more often than normal?
Spent more hours of the day in the barn bonding with my animals, and more time working legs and becoming a better feeder as I had more time to learn and observe what changed and benefited the sheep the most.
What is your favorite show product to use?
Leg Shag
When I grow up I want to be….
I want to raise sheep, and have a career associated with the livestock industry, and hope to have the opportunity to sort some shows.
Showing animals has helped me to develop……
A passion for this industry as well as learning the value of hard work and dedication. It has also taught me to stay driven and never give up no matter the circumstances.

I can always count on my dad to give me a last minute pep talk, Jordan Morris, and can’t forget Jimmy Thompson
