We caught up with Ms. Erika Donahue, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2025 Nebraska State Fair FFA Show. Learn a little more about Erika below!
What feed product do you feel helped them the most?
Honestly, the last 30 days we pulled him off supplements and just pushed him on straight Cooper Specialty Feeds 18% feed. Sometimes keeping it simple works the best!
What show day supply could you not go without?
Clippers & iced coffee
What did you do to prepare that helped set yourself apart?
I have spent a lot of time in the barn day in and day out creating a consistent routine. Along with simply trusting the process and the team behind me because I could not have done it myself.
What was the funniest thing that happened while you were preparing for the State Fair?
Being around my show group there is never a dull moment! A joke was made to yell my sister’s name anytime someone needed something so all week everyone was yelling her name, especially right after she sat down.
If you could invent a new fair food, what would it be?
I would invent a bacon mac and cheese funnel cake. Replace the sweet batter with something more savory and top it with mac and cheese and bacon!
What would it look like if you designed a ride for the fair?
I would create a roller coaster with lots on twists and turns, not many heights because I don’t enjoy them.
What was your celebratory dinner choice?
Swiss Mushroom Burger from Runza!
