We caught up with Ms, Emma Donnelly exhibitor of the Reserve Grand Champion Ewe at the 2023 Virginia State Fair. Learn a little more about Emma below!

How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
The excitement I get when I reach my goal is enough to keep me focused, as well as establishing a routine for the animals in the barn!
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
Cattle and goats!
What’s your favorite show? and why?
My favorite show is NAILE, getting to see the people from all over is awesome! I also love the atmosphere of the show itself.
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
We try and go out to a steakhouse!
What has showing livestock taught you?
Showing livestock has taught me and grown me into a better person! It has taught me a huge part of dedication and responsibility.
What’s your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to win the judging contest at NAILE.
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
My sheep’s name is Chica, her special personality is what makes her special! She has lots of different personalities.
Who do you look up to?
The person I look up to the most is my dad! He pushes me to be the absolute best version of myself I can be. He has never doubted that I can do absolutely anything I put my mind too. He’s the most hardworking and completely genuine person I know.
