Tell us a little about your champion:
Sally was my Reserve Grand Champion Commercial Ewe at the LSU State Livestock Show. She was very bad at first and now she is a big puppy dog. She also loves vanilla wafers.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned while showing animals?
Just because I’m little doesn’t mean I can’t show big lambs.

Do you have any special tricks for getting stubborn animals to cooperate?
Yes by giving them vanilla wafers and goldfish (extra cheddar)

What’s your favorite memory involving your animals?
Winning my first belt buckle at my district show with Sally

How do you prepare your animals both physically and mentally for the shows?
Bathing and conditioning them before they go in the ring and giving my lamb head scratches

What’s the most challenging aspect of showing livestock, and how do you overcome it?
When you first get lambs and you think you can’t show them because they are ginormous. I have to show them who’s boss

Who inspired you to become the showman you are today?
Sadie and Jacob Lear because they are just so good

Do you name your animals? If so, what’s the most interesting name you have given?
Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera because they date in the movie Cars

If your lamb had its own pump-up song, what would it be?
Life is a Highway -Rascal Flatts

What’s the most unexpected blooper you’ve experienced during a show?
Getting to our state fair, and the lambs were not in the pen that we put them in. Then having a wild goose chase to find the lambs in the barn.
