We caught up with Mr. Lane Hale to learn more about his hometown before he steps “Inside the Ring” to sort the Market Lambs at the 2025 State Fair of West Virginia. Get to know Lane below!

Were you involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, what?
I played sports, roped, and was involved in UIL growing up. However, by the end of high school I only showed sheep/goats and played golf.

If you could describe your hometown in one word, what would it be?
One word isn’t enough!

Were there any local traditions or festivals you loved?
The World Championship Goat Roping

If someone were visiting your hometown for the first time, what’s the one thing they must do?
Eat some phenomenal, authentic Mexican food.

Are there any people in your hometown who shaped who you are today?
My Dad, Les Hale, has always supported anything I ever wanted to be involved in and still sets a great example for me of what a father should be.

Gary Vannoy, Fred Chandler, Billy Reagor, and Chase Mcphaul all gave me mentorship which sparked my passion for the show stock industry.
