We caught up with Mr. Jason Simpson to learn more about his hometown before he steps “Inside the Ring” at the 2025 Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo. Get to know Jason below!
Where did you grow up?
Ault, Colorado. A small town about an hour north of Denver
How many kids were in your graduating class?
24
If we go back to your senior year of high school, what song was “your song”?
Don’t know that there was just one song but our music varied from George Strait to Snoop Dog
Were you involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, what?
Played basketball all four years of high school along with showing both pigs and sheep.
If you could describe your hometown in one word, what would it be?
Unique
Were there any local traditions or festivals you loved?
The Greeley Independence Stampede. It is the largest 4th of July rodeo in the country and held at our county fairgrounds. It spans over about a 10 day window with rodeos or concerts every night.
If someone were visiting your hometown for the first time, what’s the one thing they must do?
There is not a lot to do in Ault
