We caught up with Mr. Brian Skidgel to learn more about his hometown before he steps “Inside the Ring” to sort the Wether Dams & Showmanship at the 2025 Arkansas State Fair. Get to know Brian below!
Hometown?
Born and raised in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
Where did you grow up?
Raised in Pawnee but probably grew up at Oklahoma State University from 1994-1998.
How many kids were in your graduating class?
There were 46 kids in the 1994 graduating class of Pawnee High School.
If we go back to your senior year of high school, what song was “your song”?
AC/DC…Back in Black
Were you involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, what?
Yes I was involved in FFA and football.
Were there any local traditions or festivals you loved?
Dragging main was something we all did on the weekends. Friends from surrounding communities would come over and hang out and drag main for hours on the weekends.
If someone were visiting your hometown for the first time, what’s the one thing they must do?
A visit to the Pawnee Bill Ranch & Museum is a must for visitors. Take a drive through the buffalo pasture and visit the historic Pawnee Bill Mansion.
Are there any people in your hometown who shaped who you are today?
My dad recently lost his battle with cancer and he’s the one that instilled the work ethic and desire to be successful in me. I continue to strive daily to make him proud of me and the job i’m doing in raising my family.
