What state fair did you show at growing up? What was your favorite part?
I grew up showing at the State Fair of Texas. Back then, I do not think it had the same meaning to the exhibitors as it does today, or the same level of meaning that a state fair anywhere else has to the showman in that particular state. As far as my favorite part, the shoulder brand at the State Fair of Texas is cool!
What show is on your bucket list to judge?
I do not keep a mental list of shows I’ve judged, or ones I’d like to at some point. Most of them are unique for their own reasons. However, shows on green shavings seem to have an elevated atmosphere. So, Louisville and Houston come to mind.
What is one lesson you took away from showing yourself?
The industry is full of good and bad. So is life. Appreciate the good and realize it outweighs the bad.
