Favorite ewe? Why?
“Poopsie” (Checkmate X Walks Alone x Marcantel). Throughout her lifetime as a donor she seemed to always click to whatever buck she was bred to. Her influence is still around through her daughters and granddaughters.
Growing up what did you think your occupation would be?
Agricultural Sales
Are you still on the farm or buildings that you started raising sheep in? If not, when and why did you decide to move?
No. Job offers upon graduation from the University of Illinois caused the relocation of our operation. We ended up about 3 hours North of the home farm around Atkinson Illinois.
What has been the scariest decision for your operation?
I don’t know about the scariest, but managing the DD’s while trying to raise offspring that will still compete at the highest level would be one of the most challenging.
If you could add one thing to your operation, what would it be and why?
A state of the art lambing facility that includes a separate surgical room.
