How do you stay focused on reaching your goal?
I keep a page in the notes of my phone with the goals that I want to accomplish this year. Under each goal I put 3-4 things that I should be doing, that I am currently not doing or need to do better. I always look back at that list in my notes to keep me focused and make sure that I am doing everything that I can to make it happen.
Do you show any other species besides sheep? If so, what other species?
No I do not
What’s your favorite show? and why?
I would have to say that my favorite show is Kansas City, There is just something about it that just feels prestigious.
What do you do to celebrate after a big win?
Honestly, I like to just take a moment to breathe, and really soak in what just happened. It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment, so my idea of celebrating is just taking the time to appreciate the people and memories around me.
What has showing livestock taught you?
Showing livestock has taught me that no matter who you are or what your situation might be, passion, grit, and persistence will help you accomplish your goals. Find the people who push you to be better, and never forget where you started.
What’s your biggest dream?
Long term, my biggest dream would probably have to be finding a career that I love, while being able to balance raising high caliber show sheep. In the near future, my biggest dream is competing and winning at the highest levels in the show ring.
What’s your lambs name? and what made him/her so special?
Asap – He was just a pimp from day one. He had such a swagger about him in every aspect; the way he walked, the way he showed, just him running around in the pen. It truly is the intangibles Asap possessed that made him second to none.
Gwen – Besides her obnoxiously white feature, she is a part of a flush that I will never forget. When I saw the quality and depth of her flush at Jordan and Maggie’s place I knew that was something I needed to invest in. Just makes it sweeter that I was able to accomplish two goals at the same time with flush mates! P.S. Shoutout to Maggie for pricing her… sorry Jordan.
Who do you look up to?
I have been very fortunate to be involved with some very high quality people that are in my corner. But, I look up to my parents because they have supported me and been with me though this journey. They have shown me what it truly means to turn hard work into progress and make things happen.
