We caught up with Mr. J.D. Morrical, exhibitor of the Reserve Champion Jackpot Lamb at the 2026 The Show Reno. Learn a little more about J.D. below!
How long have you been showing sheep?
I started showing sheep when I was 4 years old.
What was your favorite thing about this lamb?
Chip always had an awesome attitude. I never really had any problems in terms of showing this one and he was one of my favorites.
Go-to “hype” song on show day?
I do not typically have a hype song on show day, however, if I were to choose one it would be “In Da Club”- 50 cent
What goes through your head when you are in the show ring?
Typically in the show ring I am focusing on where the judge is in relation to my sheep. I try to provide the best view of my sheep every time the judge views them whether that is on the move or propped up.
When prepping for a show, what is something that is a “must-have” in the show box?
On our most recent show trip to Reno we learned that packing the “shoe bag” with your show shoes in it is very important.
