Izzy Godman

We caught up with Ms. Izzy Godman, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Lamb at the 2025 Kentucky State Fair. Learn a little more about Izzy below!

What feed product do you feel helped them the most?
The combination of Rule/Show-Rite supplements and Purina feed helped the most!

What show day supply could you not go without?
The show day supply I would not be able to go without would be Silk by Sullivans Supply!

What did you do to prepare that helped set yourself apart?
Although we tracked and treadmill my lamb consistently, I truly believe the biggest factor was the countless hours I spent working with him to ensure I could present him to the best of my ability. There were many late nights in the barn with Wyatt Acey, who coached me and pushed me to be better every step of the way. That extra time and dedication are what I believe really set us apart when it came time to hit the green shavings!

What was the funniest thing that happened while you were preparing for the State Fair?
The funniest thing that happened while I was preparing for the State Fair was when one of my sheep wasn’t running on the track like he’s supposed to, so my track dog took matters into her own hands. She bit onto his blanket and RKO’d him. At the time I was in shock, but once i noticed he wasn’t harmed at all I can’t help but laugh about it every time I think of it.

If you could invent a new fair food, what would it be?
I’m honestly not a big fan of fair food, but if I had to invent something, it would definitely be a full steak on a stick.

What would it look like if you designed a ride for the fair?
A giant swing ride that lifts you high above the fair, glowing with neon lights and giving a view of everything below.

What was your celebratory dinner choice?
A steak from Texas Roadhouse!
