We caught up with Ms. Brynlee Newcomb, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Commercial Ewe and Grand Champion Prospect at the 2025 Spring American Royal. Learn a little more about Brynlee below!
What school do you attend/grade are you in?
Canute – Kindergarten
Leading up to the show, did you always know this lamb was special? What made him special?
Yes, I knew she was good because I got her not my sister. Her attitude made her special.
Getting to win a Spring American Royal is a huge accomplishment, who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I want to thank my dad, my mom, Ty and Nicole. Also, Jayce for helping me with her.
What is one show ring experience that you will never forget?
The time I won an electric scooter at the revival in California. It was so fun, everyone, even Ty rode on it… but then my mom ran it over with her car. I’m still mad at her.
If you could describe your experience in words – how would you describe it?
I was just so excited, the banner was bigger than me.
Who has been your biggest influence?
The Allen girls- Sayde, Layne & Jayce
If you had the opportunity to win one show, what would it be?
OYE
Who is your favorite judge? Why?
Willie Kirkpatrick is my favorite judge ever. My first big show he let his wife pick my pig to win.
What do you enjoy most about being at the shows?
The chocolate covered strawberries. I LOVE THOSE. And seeing friends I don’t see often.
